Evaluation
For our preliminary task we were asked to work in a group I decided to work with Mia and Jamie. Our preliminary task had to include someone approaching, opening a door, showing the other side of the door, someone sitting opposite another person and sharing to lines of dialogue with each other. We also had to include the media techniques 180 degree rule, match on match action and reverse shot. Before beginning the filming we were asked to sketch out our storyboard that showed what would be in the preliminary task, what shots we would use and angles and also the location and characters who we chose to be in it. We chose to shoot our film in the sixth form common room and I was being the person who approaches and opens a door act and Mia being the person who would share dialogue with me. Jamie would film this happening. After we took the photos that would be needed for our storyboard we proceeded into making our storyboard into a small book which had what technique and shot written on for each scene/shot. After completing the storyboard we began to film our preliminary.
I decided to try filming from my camera rather than the schools as I thought it would be a lot easier and quicker. We managed to shoot our film over the course of 3 media lessons. After filming we tried to upload the film onto the macs but we came across a problem as the macs could not ‘talk’ to my camera.
To resolve the problem I took the camera home and decided to upload the video at home because I have a programme which would allows me to edit the shots we took on my camera. This was a bit of a disadvantage as by this happening it set us back on our task. Whilst filming i believe we included match on match action, reverse shot and 180 degree rule to a good extent. I think the preliminary task overall went fairly well with the exception for having to upload and edit the film onto my computer and not one of the macs in school. By carrying out this preliminary task its helped me to prepare for my main task, especially when it comes to getting everything organised. We have decided to use a school camera for our main task as it would be recognised by the macs.

Preliminary Task
For our media AS we have been asked to make a short video that has to include the following five things:
person approaching room
opening door
other side of the door
sits down opposite other person
share 2 lines of dialogue
person approaching room
opening door
other side of the door
sits down opposite other person
share 2 lines of dialogue
Welcome.
Welcome to my blog.. i chose to do media as an AS because i really enjoyed doing art for GCSE but wanted to change to a more technical subject where i would learn different skills. Another reason to why i chose media is because it influences us in many ways and plays a powerful role in our lives. Enjoy! xxx
